The incidence of reported past month smoking among high school seniors reached an 19-year high in 1997; in 1999 the rate is 36.5 percent.1
Almost 90 percent of the kids smoking today will become addicted adults.2
According to the National Household Survey of Drug Abuse (NHSDA) for 1994-97, one million two hundred twenty-six thousand people under the age of 18 became daily smokers in 1996.3
