Most teenagers consider smoking a foul, unattractive habit. Contrary to how teenagers are portrayed in the media, smoking is generally considered the least popular thing teens can do if they want to hang out with other teens.
A survey of US teens revealed that 86% would rather date people who don’t smoke; 67% agreed that seeing someone smoke turns them off; and 65% said they strongly dislike being around smokers.1
